Alice and crew loot the phytomancer’s fortress and rescue the merfolk druids being held in the dungeon below. Peony returns to the capital for some official business, and Ammon chases after his wayward mule. The rest push on toward Glitterlake, the home of the druids and Alice’s mentor.
While in town, they come across a gnomish merchant who blatantly refuses to adhere to Halflingland’s anti-magic laws. Alice evades suspicion with the help of Charlotte and a Disguise Self potion, but the merchant is arrested. Sirona and Charlotte break off to follow the prisoner— and a well-placed zoog causes both the spell and the horses to bolt.
Meanwhile, Efaria and the others push onward, their path blocked by a pair of dire boars. The monsters are no match, however, and by the time the others catch up the party is gathered around a fire roasting pork up for lunch.
